New Smartphones with Amazing Features to be Launched in 2019

Most smartphone giants have already settled on a yearly upgrade cycle, and industry spectators have a good estimation of the innovative smartphones that will be coming out in 2019. From ever-shrinking bezels to additional camera lenses, industry insiders promise a revolutionary year for the smartphones.

As good as it may sound, the idea of significant leaps in the smartphone market is hard to imagine. After all, the yearly upgrades of virtually every smartphone model has become a tradition. Furthermore, there’s only so much improvement to be expected, and there is such a limited time frame to work on developments in the first place.

However, technology moves at light speed and has taken several great strides over the past couple of years. Most of the technological advances have been tailored to specific gadgets too big to fit comfortably in your pocket. From 3D big screens to bulky virtual reality gadgets, one can expect that the course of technology will take its usual path, eventually arriving at miniaturized devices.

Don’t get too excited though, 2019 isn’t the year for such magical moments like hologram 3D calls on pocket-sized cellular phones. However, the culmination of the past several years’ technological advancements, just may occur in 2019. From Artificial Intelligence to 5G-ready smartphones, next year just might be magical enough. Rumors and expectations are higher than usual this time around, and they just as well should be.

For those who held on to their hard-earned dollars, 2019 might be the year those dollars will finally be spent. The coming year is set to see lineups like never before. Expect significant improvements in performance, design, and usability.

The New Year promises a range of changes, including:

  • 5G phones: Many big names like Samsung, OnePlus and Huawei have confirmed they’ll introduce 5G-ready phones in 2019. Even though you may not be able to access 5G connectivity in 2019, seeing that label on your box means your device is future-proof.
  • Foldable phones: Samsung, Huawei, LG and a few other companies are expected to offer smartphones with foldable screens. They will be smaller, pocket-friendly phones that transform into large, tablet-style phones with a single unfolding motion.
  • Added artificial intelligence: The role of AI is going to be bigger than ever before in 2019. Most high-end smartphone processor chips come with dedicated components, enabling phones to handle more tasks, without your assistance.
  • Blockchain capability: Swiss-based SIRIN Labs is expected to launch its first blockchain-capable smartphone in 2019, second only to HTC, which released its first blockchain-based phone this year.

It looks like 2019 just might be the year of answers. After customer complaints and suggestions over the years, smartphone makers will try their best to satisfy client demands, to stay alive in the ever-competitive smartphone market.

Here are the most-anticipated smartphones coming to the market in 2019.

Samsung Galaxy F – the foldable phone

Samsung Galaxy F will be the company’s first flagship phone with a foldable screen.
Launching in 2019, Samsung’s Galaxy F phone will be one of the world’s first foldable smartphones. The company showcased a prototype of this device in November at its annual developer conference.

The Galaxy F foldable phone is expected to come with two batteries, a 7.3-inch display, and a 12MP+12MP rear camera with an 8MP front camera. The phone will feature the Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

Samsung has already announced its plans to manufacture 1 million Galaxy F devices next year. The device is expected to officially launch in the first half of 2019.

Huawei P30 – big on artificial intelligence

Huawei P30 claims to offer AI assistance for every function
The Huawei P30 will reportedly debut with 5G capabilities. Huawei is betting big on this advancement, as it well should be. 5G capabilities open the door to an unimaginable world of endless possibilities. Where current 4G connections can download a 2 hour video in 20-25 minutes, imagine having the ability to download that same video in a flat 30 seconds. With 5G infrastructures still in the works, a 5G-ready Huawei P30 should ensure you’re quite early to the party.

Sources suggest the P30 may feature a large 6.3-inch AMOLED display paired with a screen resolution of 2560×1440 megapixels. Expect a sleeker, bezel-less design with rounded corners.

The Huawei P30 is also betting big on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Huawei, the Chinese smartphone giant, has already equipped phones with special chipsets to make the devices perform AI processing tasks such as personalizing user experience, improving battery life, and many more, all based on the individual user’s previous behavior.

In the upcoming Huawei smartphones, we can expect AI capabilities in the cameras’ image processing software, and facial recognition.

OnePlus 5G phone

OnePlus may launch its first 5G smartphone by May 2019. Though OnePlus 7 has also been expected to launch in the first half of 2019, the company has made it clear that the new 5G phone, equipped with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, won’t be the OnePlus 7 phone. Instead, a new line of 5G phones will launch separately.

In an interview with CNET, Pete Lau, the OnePlus CEO, described the anticipated 5G phones as externally similar to its 4G counterparts. However, the difference lies behind the screens – 5G connectivity for unseen download/upload speeds.

The company will offer its inaugural 5G smartphone through UK carrier EE before making it available through other wireless networks worldwide.

Finney – the blockchain-capable phone

The blockchain smartphone Finney may release in November 2019

Following HTC’s Exodus 1, a blockchain-capable phone, a Swiss-based company named SIRIN Labs now focuses on creating a new blockchain-based smartphone. Named FINNEY, the phone is expected to be released by November 2019.

FINNEY will come with the Token Conversion Service (TCS), which will eliminate the need to visit external exchanges to convert tokens. The phone will feature technology from SIRIN Labs and be manufactured by the Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group.

Conclusions

The devices discussed here boast technological advances that make them worth pursuing by smartphone users. Others not on our list, like the HTC Exodus blockchain phone appear so experimental that it’s still too early to say whether they will actually happen.

The most interesting thing, however, is that Apple is not on the list. The company has already confirmed that they won’t launch 5G phone next year, taking the approach of getting things better, rather than getting them out quickly. Regardless of the wisdom of such an approach, other companies are sprinting ahead. Huawei is focused on AI, while Samsung is all set to roll out phones with foldable screens, and most manufacturers will get a 5G phone to market in 2019. Apple will have to do something impressive, to keep up with the rapid surge of significant developments in the 2019 smartphone market.
