1- Saiful Muluk:
This is probably the most famous lake of Pakistan, situated in the Naran kaghan Valley.
2- Attabad Lake:
Attabad Lake is another jaw-dropping lake located in Gojal Valley, Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan. The lake was created in January 2010 as a result of a disaster.
3- Borith Lake:
Borith Lake is a lake in Gulmit, Hunza Valley in Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan. Borith is a hamlet in the surroundings of the Borith Lake to the northwest of Husseini, a village near Gulmit, Gojal, in the upper Hunza. The altitude of Borith is roughly 2,600 metres above sea level.
4- Ghanche Lake:
Ghanche Lake is a hidden lake located in the Ghanche district in Gilgit-Baltistan. This lake acts as a main water supplier for the people of Khaplu Village in Gilgit Baltistan.
5- Handarap Lake:
This lake is also known as the Shandur Lake and is located in the Shandur Valley in Ghizer.
6- Hrkolong Lake:
The Hrkolong lake is situated in Khaplu valley of Gilgit Baltistan. Hrkolong lake is the source of Hnajuluba stream that waters khaplu, Surmo and Youchung Broq.
7- Paristan Lake:
Surrounded by stunning snow-capped mountains, this lake is located in the breathtaking town of Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan.
8- Karambar Lake:
Karambar Lake is the 31st highest lakes in the world . The approximate length of the lake is 3.9 km, width is 2 km and, average depth is 52m. It is located in the Ishkoman Valley, Gilgit–Baltistan.
9- Katpanah Lake:
This is the only lake in downtown of Skardu city in Katpanah valley. Katpanah lake is located at around 2,190 m above the sea level.
10- Naltar Lakes:
These triplet lakes are a sight to see while visiting the Naltar valley in Gilgit-Baltistan.
11- Lower Kachura Lake:
The lower Kachura lake or Shangrila lake is located at a drive of almost 20 minutes away from Skardu. Shangrila was named after a book titled Lost Horizon by James Hilton. Shangri-la is a Chinese word meaning “Heaven on earth”.
12- Rama Lake:
Rama Lake is a beautiful natural lake which is located nine kilometers away from the valley of Astore in Gilgit–Baltistan.
13- Rush Lake:
The Rush lake is one of the highest alpine lakes in the whole world located near Rush Pari Peak. It is located about 15 km north of Miar Peak and Spantik (Golden Peak), which are in the Nagar valley, Gilgit–Baltistan.
14- Satpara Lake:
Satpara Lake is located in Skardu Valley and is one of the largest fresh water lakes in Pakistan. The Satpara lake is the sole freshwater supplier to the city of Skardu.
15- Sheosar Lake:
The Sheosar lake in Gilgit is wrapped with the lush green plains. It is situated in the Deosai Plateau, which is one of the highest plateaus of the world.
16- Upper Kachura Lake:
Upper Kachura Lake is located in Skardu District, Gilgit–Baltistan. The lake is surrounded with wild apricot gardens and has a depth of around 70 meters. Due to rough terrain of the surrounding area, this lake is not well explored.
17- Zharba Lake:
The Zharba lake is located in the Shigar valley of Gilgit-Baltistan. This is the only lake in the valley and not much explored by the tourists.
18- Ansoo Lake:
Ansoo Lake is a high-altitude lake (4,126 metres (13,537 ft)) located in the Kaghan Valley in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is near Malika Parbat in the Himalayan range. You can reach this stunning lake by trekking from Kaghan valley.
19- Baghsar Lake:
This lake is almost half km long and is located in Samahni Valley of Bhimber District. Due to its location near LOC, the lake is not very famous among the tourists.
20- Chitta Katha Lake:
This beauty is a peace for the mind to look at and is located in Shonter Valley of Azad Kashmir.
21- Drigh Lake:
Drigh Lake is Located in Qambar Shahdadkot District in Sindh, Pakistan. It is 29 km away from Larkana city and 7 km away from Qambar town.
22- Dudipatsar Lake:
The lake lies in the extreme north of Kaghan Valley at a height of 3,800 metres (12,500 ft). The term dudi in Urdu means ‘white’ and sar means ‘lake’.
23- Ganga Lake:
Ganga Lake is a high-altitude lake (2,942 metres (9,652 ft) located in the Bagh Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is near Ganga Choti Peak in the Himalayan (Pir Panjal) range. The lake is accessible from Bagh by a Jeep track.
24- Hadero Lake:
The water of Hadero lake is slightly salty in nature and has been declared a wildlife sanctuary. The lake has a surface area of 1321 hectares and is located in Thatta District, Sindh.
25- Haleji Lake:
The lake is located at about 70 km from Karachi and is the largest water fowl reserve in Asia.
26- Hanna Lake:
The stunning Hanna lake is situated close to Quetta near Urak Valley in Balochistan. The lake offers breathtaking view in winter season when everything is covered in snow.
27- Kallar Kahar:
The Kallar Kahar lake has salty water due to the fact that it is situated near the Salt Mines.
28- Khabikki Lake:
Deriving its name from the nearby village, the Khabikki lake is also located near the salt range.
29- Kundol Lake:
The Kundol lake is crystal blue in color and is located in the north of Utror via Ladu valley in Swat, KPK.
30- Lulusar Lake:
The lake is the main source of the Kunhar River and has a baby lake beside it. The word “sar” means “lake” in Shina. It is located in Naran Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
31- Manchar Lake:
It is the largest freshwater lake in Pakistan and is situated in Sindh. The lake collects water from numerous small streams in the Kirthar Mountains and empties into the Indus River.
32- Namal Lake:
Located in the Namal Valley of Mianwali, this lake was built after the Namal Dam was constructed in 1913.
33- Payee Lake:
Surrounded by the Makra Peak and the Malika Parbat, this lake is a tiny gorgeous piece of clear water and gives a fantastic view of KPK. It is located near Shogran in Payee, Kaghan Valley.
34- Pyala Lake:
Situated near the Kunhar river, KPK, this lake’s name refers to its bowl like shape. Pyala Lake is located besides the Kunhar River at Jalkhad.
35- Banjosa Lake:
An artificial lake and a main tourist attraction, this lake is located in the Poonch Valley of Azad Kashmir.
36- Siri Lake:
The gorgeous Siri Lake is situated near Shogran in Siri, on the way to Payee in Kaghan Valley, KPK.
37- Khanpur Lake:
This lake is specifically famous for its water sports and paragliding and is located in Khanpur village in KPK.
38- Mangla Lake:
An artificial reservoir located near the city of Mirpur, in Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir.
39- Tarbela Lake:
This too is an artificial reservoir located in the in the Haripur District. The name of the lake comes from town of Tarbela in which it is located (Hindko Black Forest).
40- Ratti gali Lake:
Located in the Neelum valley of AJK, this lake is accessible from Dowarian by a 19 kilometers (12 mi) hiking trek. Dowarian is the base camp to this lake.
