Historians have claimed that Romans were the first nation to prepare ice-creams in their present form, when ice was collected and stacked in ice straw covered pits to make this delicious dessert.

At present, we are fortunate to have so many ice cream parlors and restaurants which serve mind-blowing ice creams, all year around to satisfy our appetite and cravings.

  • 1/2 liter apricot puree – sweetened and strained,
  • 100 gm sugar,
  • 125 ml of water,
  • 4 egg yolks,

Method:

This method includes two parts.

Part-One:

  • Dissolve sugar in water to make syrup
  • Add the apricot puree in the syrup and cook for 5 minutes
  • Pour in beaten yolks and mix until the texture gets thick
  • Let it cool down to room temperature and then add cream
  • Make sure you stir well
  • Keep the ice cream into the refrigerator to freeze
  • At intervals stir the ice cream while freezing to prevent the formation of ice crystals until the mixture is set

Part-Two:

  • Melt sugar in a heavy pan
  • Add almonds and cook for 10 minutes on low heat
  • Pour onto an oiled tray and allow it to set
  • Once it turns into a solid, crush it with a rolling pin and sprinkle the powder  over the ice cream before serving

  • 1 Tbsp Custard powder

Method:

  • Put custard, cocoa, sugar and half a cup of milk in a bowl and mix well

  • Boil milk in a pan
